This term indexes discussions of scientific models generally, including model systems, model organisms, and epidemiological modeling. The term "model" is used very broadly, often overlapping with "exemplar," "hypothesis," "analogy," "stand-in," and "schematic."

For specific model organisms, such as mice, see Organisms, species, genes, and diseases.
