Mandrills (Mandrillus sphinx) are an Old World monkey, and the largest of the monkey species. They are descended from mangabeys, but were formerly thought to be related to baboons (Papio) because of their similar appearance. They are native to west-central Africa (Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon).
